THINGS TO DO IN OCEAN CITY: LABOR DAY 2012

In the meantime, here's some information about things to do in Ocean City, NJ over the Labor Day weekend holiday, and beyond:

(Sept. 2) LYNDA RANDLE in Concert. The winner of the Gospel Album of the Year award performs a tribute to Mahalia Jackson with Joey Gore on piano and Gale Mayes and Angela Prim, vocals, 7PM at the Ocean City Tabernacle, 550 Wesley Ave., free admission. For information, call (609)399-1915.

(Sept. 2,4 and 5) The Ocean City Pops presents HAIRSPRAY in collaboration with the Ocean City Theatre Co 7:30PM tickets available at the Music Pier Box Office, (609) 525-9248, $25/$18. Sponsored by Primo Pizza, The Original Fudge Kitchen, and Shriver’s Salt Water Taffy and Gelato.

(Sept. 3) MAYOR’S LABOR DAY RACE: 5 mile beach run/walk. Great end of the season event. Call (609) 525-9317.

(Sept. 7-9) Annual STREET ROD Weekend, features classic cars on display at the Sports and Civic Center, off the Boardwalk at 6th Street.  And on the Boardwalk, noon to 4PM on Saturday. Info call (609) 525-9300.

(Sept.8) KICKS FOR CLOTS, a kickball tournament for the benefit of the National Blood Clot Alliance (10AM) at 6 St. and Haven Ave. Softball Fields. Every Wednesday until Sept. 12  (8AM to 1PM) There will be a FARMER’S MARKET at the Tabernacle Grounds, 6thand Asbury Ave. plus Crafter's Booths on the Firehouse Parking lot (across the street).
