|"Night in Venice" Boat Parade, Ocean City NJ|
This water-going parade has been in existence for 58 years, but 2012 is the first year that there will be no traffic delays due to the opening of the drawbridge on the 9th. Street Causeway. The old bridge has been replaced by a much taller, fixed span. However, that does not mean there will not be traffic tie-ups due to the huge influx of vehicles onto the island - just sayin'
Guests of the Scarbobough Inn are fortunate to be able to walk over to viewing sites along the bay at the street ends (free, subject to availability) or at the Bayside Center (tickets required/ purchase in advance) at 520 Bay Avenue. Hint: it's a good idea to bring snacks and sodas to enjoy as you watch.
This year's Grand Marshall is Ocean City resident and recent inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Dick Richards. He is an original member of Bill Haley's Comets.
This year's theme is, "Do You Remember When?" It gives homeowners and boat owners lots of flexibility when decorating their homes or craft. It's always fun to see the creative and colorful decorations! Hope you enjoy the "Night in Venice" Boat Parade when visiting the Scarborough Inn!
