|Cape May Lighthouse|
One is the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse in North Wildwood. Recently, years of restoration work was completed and the site is also rumored to have lovely gardens. During the summer, the lighthouse is open 7 days a week, from 9AM to 5PM with tour tickets for ages 12+ costing $4.00 per person. Prior to your visit, you may want to visit the Hereford Islet Lighthouse website for additional information.
The second area site is the Cape May Lighthouse, located in Cape May Point State Park, Lower Township. The building was constructed in 1859 - the third such beacon constructed at the tip of New Jersey. Many visitors make a climb to the top part of their annual vacation, but there's also an orientation center and Museum Shop at ground level. Tickets for ages 13+ are $7.00 per person. Additional details plus a printable coupon are available on the Cape May Lighthouse website.
INNsider Tip: Purchase a combo ticket to visit both Cape May County lighthouses at the Hereford Inlet site for $9.00 per person - a nice savings!
