Tax Freedom Day, Ocean City, NJ

Downtown Ocean City logoWith the annual income tax day just around the corner, I was interested to read about, Tax Freedom Day.   The Tax Foundation,  a group that claims to be a "nonpartisan tax research group," has apparently figured out how long the average citizen in each state must work before the tax bill is paid off.  They say the average in America is 102 days.  102 days!  In New Jersey, it is a depressing 119 days - or April 29.

But there is some good news.  From April 15 to 17, you can celebrate the end of tax season in Downtown Ocean City, NJ (6th. through 11th. streets on Asbury Avenue) during the merchants' TAX-FREE SHOPPING DAYS!  Enjoy discounts equal to the 7% NJ Sales Tax on purchases at selected locations.  Look for the Downtown Ocean City poster (see sample above) for participating stores and restaurants.

And some great news...the Scarborough Inn is not only the perfect spot for your Ocean City, NJ seashore vacation, but we feature Specials and Packages throughout the season!  Visit our website here to see what is available.  And don't forget to like us on facebook and follow us on twitter for additional information and, from time to time, Online-only Specials or Giveaways (find links on our home page).

In addition, we always offer discounts* to AAA members, senior citizens, and active military personnel with appropriate ID or membership cards (tax and gratuity extra).

*Please note: specials may not be combined, and may be discontinued without notice.
