Bed and Breakfast Rooms, Scarborough Inn

Susan's Room - Scarborough Inn
Rooms are fully half of the equation when visiting a Bed and Breakfast.  And I'd guess that the unique, individually decorated Guest Rooms are one of the main reasons guests choose the Scarborough Inn for their Ocean City, NJ getaway.  Certainly our accommodations have character and individual style - a welcome alternative to bland hotel rooms.  In fact, the first room we re-decorated, Sweet Thymes, won an Award from Country Inns magazine!

The decor in every room is different and we re-decorate on about a five or six year cycle - so several rooms are "new" every season.  All feature lovely fabrics and furnishings and most rooms contain a refinished oak dresser - a remnant of the original decor of this Historic Inn.  As the years have passed and guest's needs have changed, we have added a variety of modern amenities, too.  The most recent additions have been flat screen TVs and wireless Internet; suites also feature Scarborough Inn robes and in-room Coffee Bars.

As you can imagine, some guests love to stay in different Guest Rooms every time.  They enjoy the variety and surprise of entering a "new" home-away-from-home whenever they visit.  Other guests adopt a specific Guest Room as "theirs" and book early so they are sure of reserving their favorite.  So it was no surprise when one of our guests announced recently that she was sending us a plaque to identify one of the Guest Rooms as hers!

She did, too.  Next time you visit, see if you can locate, Susan's Room!  Luckily, she is happy to share "her" room when she's not visiting the Scarborough Inn; but does this mean I have to consult her when it's time to re-decorate that room?
